Jenn Zigler's iGoogle picture

These tabs on my iGoogle will be very useful tools as I continue gathering materials as a future Kindergarten/Elementary Educator. Dragon's Daily Drill provides interesting, age appropriate, daily exercises/fun facts that will be fun to implement into my classroom. Other tabs such as Why Teachers Love SMART boards and Free Technology for Teachers provide useful information about new classroom technologies that I might also use in the future.

Two Important Resources for Teaching Kindergarten

1) Lesson plan:

http://school.discoveryeducation.com/lessonplans/k-5.html

This lesson plan website will be very useful to me as a future Kindergarten teacher. It offers lots of creative, hands-on activities for teaching different standards and activities. There are a lot of free lesson plans and plenty of good ideas to choose from on this website.

2) Teaching and Learning related Videos:

(Kindergarten Power Teaching)

This video was really interesting to me because I have learned about Power Teaching in a few of my classes. I think it is a really interesting idea particularly for teaching Kindergarten since students are so young and may not be able to use higher level thinking in a lot of activities. The video is a really great visual example of how Power Teaching can be used to engage students in the Kindergarten classroom.
